OUR CHOICE
Arc welding is vital to many industries. It is involved in construction, transportation, fabrication, petrochemical and other industries. Arc welders are involved in consumer appliances to fabricating heavy machinery and structural steel, it is an important machine for building and making other industrial constructions, including oil, gas pipelines and refinery construction.
For more universal tasks, we recommend welding combo machines. And all professionals know about TIG and MIG welders
Finding the best stick (arc) welder may be and most often is a hard task. That’s why we collected some specs and pros/cons out there.
We’ve focused here on not so expensive machines for home use or occasional works in workshops. Nevertheless you’ll find here pretty durable and powerful machines which vary in price, current type (AC/DC), and power. Be our guest!

Weight – 20 lb
Dimensions 13.5 x 6.5 x 11 inches, AC 230V/115V Output current – 160 A Rated Duty Cycle – 60% Short review
Amico power is USA brand, welder made in China.
160A DC Arc Welder is nice and cheap lightweight machine. On 115V cable burns 3/32 rod at 100A nicely. In 220v with 150A setting welds smoothly with 1/8 rod. Cables are long enough. The machine is a cold starter and sometimes it is hard to hold a tight arc, it snuffs out especially in 100 amps and below. Performs best when connected to 220 but for most light welding jobs works well when connected to 110 volts (below 100 amps). The ground clamp and stinger lack good stout spring tension. The stinger does not hold a 1/16th electrode, it just falls out. With a 1/8 or 3/32 rod, you have to put it in at the tip using the 45-degree angle groove. Better to buy another stinger, I used one from my old machine. You need at least 20amps so 3000 watts generator will give you 25 amps which makes it technically possible. But better to use 4000 watt one

C.M.T Pitbull Ultra-Portable 100-Amp Electric Arc Welder – 110V Our rating |
Features
Short review Machine is mostly for light repairs and for small welding jobs. This welder has a short duty cycle, overheats after continuous use, then you have to wait for it too cool down. But the Pitbull welder is surprisingly small and relatively light-weight, so you can use it for repair projects around home If you need a cheap welder for small jobs, it is your choice. For anything like serious welding, you need a 220-volt unit.

Short review Stick welding machine for MMA welding in AC current. Works well for welding mild and stainless steel. |
Welder equipment comes in many sizes, prices, and types to fit the needs of most everyone that enjoys working with welders, from home shops to industry. There are two basic types of welders, alternating welding current (AC) and direct welding current (DC)
There are different welding processes, arc welder, gas welder, resistance welder, and energy beam welders. Arc welds are done with the use of electrical current. It requires inexpensive welders equipment. A gas welder is used for repairing pipes and tubes. It is also used in the jewelry industry, and with plastic and other materials that cannot stand higher temperatures. Resistance welding is the most environmental friendly among all the methods, but requires costly equipment which cannot be used in all situations.
A welder can be used for housing, transportation, and manufacturing to repairs. A weld can be done from gas flame, electric arc, to a laser.
